Tarzan

Tarzan, a character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, first appeared in the 1914 novel Tarzan of the Apes, and then in twenty-three sequels. He is the son of a British Lord and Lady, marooned on the coast of Africa by mutineers. His parents died when he was an infant, and he was raised by Great Apes of a species unknown to science. Kala is his ape mother. Tarzan (White-skin) is his ape name; his English name is John Clayton, Lord Greystoke. As a young adult, he meets Jane, and when she returns to America he leaves the jungle in search of his true love. Tarzan and Jane marry, and he lives with her for a time in England. They have one son, Jack, who takes the ape name Korak. Tarzan is contemptuous of the hypocrisy of civilization, and he and Jane return to Africa where, both being immortal, they still live.

Tarzan

Tarzan is the thirty-seventh animated feature in the Disney animated features canon. It was produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation, and released to theaters by Walt Disney Pictures and Buena Vista Distribution on June 18, 1999. It is based upon the Tarzan of the Apes series of novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs, and is the only major motion picture version of the Tarzan property to be animated.

Tarzan, the Ape Man

Tarzan, the Ape Man is a 1981 American action movie and adventure film directed by John Derek. It stars Bo Derek, Richard Harris, John Phillip Law and Miles O'Keeffe. The screenplay by Tom Rowe is loosely based on the novel Tarzan of the Apesby Edgar Rice Burroughs. The original music score is composed by Perry Botkin Jr. The film's tagline is Unlike any other "Tarzan" you've ever seen!

Greystoke - The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes

Greystoke - The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes is a 1984 film based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' novel Tarzan of the Apes. It features Sir Ralph Richardson, Ian Holm, James Fox, Christopher Lambert, Andie MacDowell and Cheryl Campbell. Christopher Lambert plays the part of Tarzan, and Andie MacDowell plays the part of Jane. Ralph Richardson, who played the Sixth Earl of Greystoke, died shortly after filming ended, and he received a posthumous Oscar nomination.
