Alice in Wonderland![]() ![]() Alice and The Mad Hatter - Celebration in Wonderland 11 in. x 14 in. Buy this Art Print at AllPosters.com Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a work of children's literature by the British mathematician and author, Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, written under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. It tells the story of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit-hole into a fantasy realm populated by talking creatures and anthropomorphic playing cards. The tale is fraught with satirical allusions to Dodgson's friends and to the lessons that British schoolchildren were expected to memorize. The Wonderland described in the tale plays with logic in ways that has made the story of lasting popularity with children as well as adults. The book is often referred to by the abbreviated title Alice in Wonderland. Some printings of this title contain both Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. This alternate title was popularized by the numerous film and television adaptations of the story produced over the years. Alice in Wonderland Movies![]() ![]() Alice in Wonderland 11 in. x 17 in. Buy this Giclee Print at AllPosters.com Alice In Wonderland is the thirteenth animated feature in the Disney animated features canon. It was produced by Walt Disney Productions and originally released to theaters on July 28, 1951 by RKO Radio Pictures. Lewis Carroll's surreal books Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass have been frequently adapted for film; this adaptation solved the problems of the setting by using animation. The screenplay was written by Aldous Huxley among other writers, and the film uses the voices of Kathryn Beaumont as Alice and Ed Wynn as the Mad Hatter. Made under the supervision of Walt Disney himself, this film and its animation are often regarded as some of the finest work in Disney studio history, despite the lackluster, even hostile, reviews it originally received, especially in the UK. Alice in Wonderland (1933 film)The movie Alice in Wonderland was first made in nineteen thirty-three but was redone by Walt Disney in nineteen fifty-one . These moves were first in the form of a book by Lewis Carrol called Alice’s adventures in Wonderland. His books were written in the Victorian era. Since the books were written in the Victorian era it was a different way to think wonderland was a very different concept for the people of that time. Alice was based on a real little girl name Alice Liddell, who was Lewis’ boss’ daughter. The nineteen thirty-three movie was a live action movie starring Charlotte Henry as Alice. But the nineteen fifty-one movie was a cartoon. These movies are both considered the closest to the book. These movies were full of exciting characters. Alice was a young girl who was tired of learning logic lessons and was bored with her everyday world. She is the main character in these stories and learns new lessons while in Wonderland. Alice also learns how to deal with growing up and how to make the transition from child to young adult. Also why it is so important to be able to learn in new ways. Alice found the way to Wonderland because of her cat Dina, she wondered off so Alice chased after her. The white rabbit was always in a hurry to get to where he needed to go that he confused himself. He lead Alice to the entrance of wonderland and showed up through out the story to “guide” her. Alice was always curious about where the rabbit need to go. Another odd character was the Cheshire cat, He is full of riddles that make Alice ask herself questions about what she has learned before wonderland. The Cheshire cat had a special skill to disappear from head to toe. Alice also encountered the Queen of hearts, she is the ruler of Wonderland. She is acts like an over grown child, and she is the only adult in wonderland. She would throw fits if she did not get her way. The Queen of hearts almost had Alice’s head chopped off, all because of a game of croquet.Alice in Wonderland Merchandise![]() All images and characters depicted on this site are copyright their respective holders, and are used for informational purposes only.
